Caroline Myers is an artist and professor in Alabama.
In 2021, Caroline received her BFA, with a focus in figurative painting, from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She attended graduate school at Clemson University and earned her MFA degree in May 2023. She returned to her alma mater, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she is currently an adjunct professor in the Department of Art and Art History.
Caroline has an active studio practice and her work has been showcased regionally as well as nationally. She attended the New York Academy of Art's Summer Undergraduate Residency Program in July 2021 and was one of forty finalists accepted into the 2021 AXA Art Prize, one of the top figurative art competitions for undergraduate and graduate students. Jurors for this award included curators from the National Gallery of Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Recently, Caroline's painting Pandemic Summer won Best in Show in Artisphere's 2022 Artists of the Upstate Juried Competition. In 2023, her piece CMYK took home the Award of Excellence in the same competition. Her work was also showcased in the 2022 South Carolina Festival of Flowers Juried Art Competition. In April of 2023, Caroline presented her MFA Thesis Show, Refigured: Separations in Portraiture.
